Civil servants undergoing verification in Kafanchan, Kaduna State on Tuesday deserted the centre following bomb scare.
The News Agency of Nigeria in Kafanchan reports that the scare came following reports of a bomb blast at a verification centre in Zaria.
A NAN Correspondent who visited the centre in Kafanchan, reports that workers were seen leaving the venue and struggling for transportation back to their homes.
Some of the workers who spoke with NAN said they opted to vacate the centre for the safety of their lives.
Benjamin Boman of Kaduna State College of Education said upon receiving the news from Zaria, workers did not wait a second before abandoning the exercise.
Boman said: “We unanimously decided to leave the venue to avoid a repeat of the incident in Zaria.”
Another worker, Gillian Gado of Jama’a LGA, said the workers’ decision to vacate the premises followed the instruction from the verification officials from Kaduna.
“We were instructed to disperse the venue on security grounds pending further instruction,” Gado said.
An official, who pleaded anonymity, told NAN that the exercise was called off due to the unfortunate incident in Zaria.
