Super Falconets’ striker, Courtney Dike, has promised that the team will put up a brilliant display at the forthcoming FIFA U-20 women’s World Cup, Canada 2014.
The forward from Oklahoma State University, USA, said this on the backdrop of the team’s training tour of Canada.
Dike said Nigeria will excel at the competition with the calibre of players that will be paraded.
“The team’s training is excellent. There is team work and everyone is working towards a good outing for the team at the World Cup,” Dike said.
The 19-year old Accounting student further stated that she was looking forward to playing for Nigeria and hoping that the Falconets win the World Cup on her debut.
She commended her teammates for the love so far shown her in camp.
Dike said: “My teammates have showed me love since my arrival.
“Training has been hard from the beginning, but as it progressed, it’s a bit easier.
“I have played with other teams and I must confess wearing my country’s colour is amazing.
“I promise to bring my experience abroad and combine it with what we are being thought to help the team win the top prize here.”
Courtney, the younger sister of Super Eagles striker, Bright Dike, started playing football in her fifth grade 10 years ago and since then she has played in schools tournament and presently plies her trade with OKC FC, USA.
