A New radio station — Super FM 88.1 — has begun transmission in Edo with an assurance to build unifying bridge to promote modern broadcasting.
Head of the Station, Gbenga James told newsmen in Benin that Super FM group had stations in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun and Port Harcourt, Rivers.
“Super FM 88.1 is a radio station positioned to deliver quality content to the listeners in and outside the box Benin City.
“The station is out to give our listeners a whole package in news, entertainment, sports and human angle stories.
“We are test-running the ones in Benin and Port Harcourt, while a licence has been secured for the one that will be cited in Lagos.
“Our aim is basically to inform, influence and inspire our listeners.
“We are going to be covering all communities in Edo and one of the good things technology has done is to bridge the gap in human resources.
“There are some communities in this state that nobody knows what is happening there.
“We want to bring those things to the fore,” he said.
The Head of News and Current Affairs of the station, Israel Adebiyi, said that the new station was out to offer excellent services.
Adebiyi noted that the station’s programmes would be tailored to what really affects the communities in the state.
