A crash that occurred in the early hours of Wednesday at Fire Academy, Sheda, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, has left 18 persons dead.
Involved in the accident that occurred at about 1:35am were a Marcopolo luxury bus with registration number XG 413 FGG, which belongs to GUO Group of Companies, and a J5 bus, with registration number XA 726 NSR.
Information by the Federal Road Safety Corps said 17 of the victims died on the spot while one later died at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada.
Seven others, two females and five males, were injured.
The injured were taken to the University of Abuja General Hospital, Gwagwalada.
A total of 96 persons, 70 males and 16, females were involved in the crash.
Fourteen of the corpses are presently in the morgue of the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada while four were deposited at the Kwali General Hospital.
