Cape Town City has announced another shock signing in the form of Nigeria international striker Victor Obinna on a free transfer.
Obinna, 30, reunites with manager Benni McCarthy in Cape Town after previously sharing a dressing room as teammates with English Premier League side West Ham United in the 2010/11 season.
With 48 senior national team caps and playing for the likes of Chievo Verona, Internazionale, Málaga and Lokomotiv Moscow – Obinna brings a wealth of experience to the ambitious Premiership side.
“Cape Town City FC is excited to announce the signing of former Inter and West Ham United striker Victor Obinna,” the club revealed on their official Twitter account.
