The Court of Appeal has dismissed the suit brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission seeking to stop the Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, from operating his account with Zenith Bank of Nigeria Plc.
The EFCC sought the injunction of the court following the unfreezing of the account by the Federal High Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
The Federal High Court, presided over by Justice Taiwo Taiwo had earlier granted Gayose leave to operate the account.
This was after it was initially frozen based on a request by the EFCC.
In dismissing the appeal of the EFCC, the Court of Appeal said the anti-graft agency did not come clean when it failed to declare before it that a similar application had been dismissed by Justice Taiwo.
