Balarabe Musa to Buhari: Forget second term, you have achieved nothing

The Chairman of the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties, Alhaji Abdulkadir Balarabe Musa, has told President Muhammadu Buhari to perish the thought of a second term in office.
Musa, Second Republic governor of Kaduna State, said this in a interview he granted Independent newspaper.
He advised Buhari not to seek a second term in 2019.
He told Independent newspaper: “The issue of second term does not arise at all because, in the past two years, there is nothing inspiring from the present administration that would necessitate anybody asking for second term.
“Normally, you ask for second term when you have projects that you cannot complete within the first term of your administration, but in this case, there is nothing like that.”
While faulting the Buhari administration on achievements it has been claiming credit for, Musa said it is not true the the government has reduced crime as kidnapping for ransom and herdsmen/farmers clashes have assumed dangerous dimensions than before May 29, 2015.
He said: “The security situation in the country has grown worse under the present Buhari’s government except they want us to believe that Boko Haram insurgency is the only security challenge facing the country which is not true.”
He equally said the government failed on other scores of assessing any administration, including cost of living, failed leadership, adding that there was the need to overhaul the country.
Musa told the Independent: “The way forward is the complete change of the socio-economic system and the leadership produced by it.
“Believe me, since we have reached the end of the road, there is no need pretending.
“We have to go to the ultimate, a revolutionary upsurge either in a legal sense or social revolution.
“The face-off between the legislature and the executive is the worst experience we have had in the history of democracy in Nigeria.
“It seems that this is the worst relationship between the two arms of government.
“The obvious reason for this is the socio-political system controlling all development in the country which is based on self-interest first and public interest second.
“We never had it this rough before and this is the reason for so many aspects of the negative state of the nation.”
