The All Progressives Congress in Edo State has suspended the state Vice Chairman and Senatorial Leader in Edo South, Gentleman Amegor, for alleged anti-party activities.
In a statement signed by Pa Ogbomo, Hon. Henry Okhuarobo, Hon. Henry Idahagbon, Vincent Uwadiae, Chief Benson Osifo, among others leaders, the party said its decision was reached at a meeting held on Tuesday.
In the statement, the party said: “The leaders lamented the lackluster leadership of the party at the Senatorial District and observed that the State Vice Chairman and Senatorial leader, Barr Gentleman Amegor failed woefully in implementing the laudable objectives contained in the party’s constitution.”
The allegations leveled against Gentleman Amegor include “failure to convene regular meetings of the district to discuss and resolve issues affecting the development of the party.
“Anti-party activity committed during the last Presidential elections which led to the loss of his unit and consequently his Local Government.”
The party set up a five-man disciplinary committee chaired by Rev. Michael Egharevba to investigate the allegations.
Hon. Uyi Igbe will serve as Secretary.
In the meantime, the Secretary of the Party, Chief Osaro Idah, will coordinate the activities of the party in the district.
