75-year-old woman burnt to death

A 75-year-old woman, Dr. Katherine Rewane-Damilola, has been burnt to death in Maryland area of Lagos State.
The tragedy occurred at the duplex where the woman resided,
Rewane-Damilola occupies a five bedroom duplex, which was gutted by fire at 25, Wasinmi Street, Maryland.
The Director of the Lagos State Fire Service, Rasak Fadipe, confirmed the development.
Fadipe said the fire occurred in the middle of the night.
He said fire fighters got to the scene of the fire about 4.02am.
He said: “The fire was said to have started from the victim’s bedroom.
“She was trying to escape but the fire caught up with her on the door of her bedroom where she fell down and died on the spot.”
