The Kebbi State Office of the National Identity Cards Commission says
has recorded an enrolement of 95,045 people into the scheme out of
which 2,070 cards were ready for collection.
Alhaji Ahmed Umar, the coordinator of the commission in the state,
made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria
(NAN)in Birnin Kebbi on Monday.
He said that so far, only 879 people had collected their cards and
urged others to come forward.
He said the commission was fully equipped with the necessary
facilities and urged the people to register with the scheme.
The coordinator further said that efforts were being made to inform
the people to pick up their cards using Jingles on radio and
television.
He said that the commission would also collaborate with local
government chairmen, councillors, traditional rulers and other
stakeholders to ensure smooth distribution of the cards to their
genuine owners.
