More information trickled in late on Tuesday on the meeting between the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2023 elections in Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
According to available information, the unannounced and shock meeting held on Tuesday in London, United Kingdom.
This was so because Wike, elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, had promised not to defect to the APC despite his differences with his party.
The Eagle Online recalls that Wike lost the presidential primaries of the PDP to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
So also did his lose the vice presidential nomination to the Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, who was preferred over him by Abubakar.
According to information available to The Eagle Online, the meeting in the United Kingdom between Tinubu and Wike was a three aside one.
Both men had two persons on each side at the meeting.
While Tinubu was with the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and his Ekiti State counterpart, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Wike came with two Governors elected on the platform of the PDP.
They were Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Samuel Ortom of Rivers State.
No formal statement was issued on the meeting.
So also has none of the parties at the meeting disclosed what transpired there.
