A former Inspector General of Police, MD Abubakar has declared that the multi-dimensional Nigerian challenges can be confronted and tackled by a matured, exposed and selfless leaders.
Abubakar who is the President, Alumni Association of National institute (AANI), made the declaration at a briefing on the association’s forthcoming (AGM) Annual General Meeting and conference in Abuja.
Speaking, Abubakar said the “challenges facing the country cannot be properly addressed unless broadminded and selfless individuals with capacity and courage seek to participate actively in elective positions as part of a means to redeem the country” are given the mandate to lead.
He said: “we must de-emphasize money politics and come to together to sponsor candidates that can pursue an agenda for the common good and not individuals that focuses more on their selfish interest and material inducements.
“Our association is always available to partner with government and all stakeholders to tackle challenges through promoting a comprehensive strategy that would stabilize and promote a proactive agenda for the overall development of the country.
“In regards to this, we are calling on political class to help uphold global practices and focus more on the welfare of Nigerians”.
“We must rededicate ourselves to the Nigerian project and provide durable solutions to the prevailing situation in the country”.
“AANI ‘Think Tank’ is going to hold a national dialogue on national unity. The theme for this year’s AGM is repositioning AANI for greater effectiveness, so we invite to a peace walk at the central of Abuja tomorrow, Friday 4th of March 2022 from 6:00-7:00am”.
“Also the AGM will commence on Saturday 5th of March 2022 at The Nigerian Air Force Conference Centre, Abuja by 9:00 am.
“At the meeting, we shall discuss and take reports on national issues facing Nigerians and also provide solutions for the good of the country and its citizens”.
