Kano Pillars defeated Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure 1-0 on Wednesday in Abuja in a rescheduled fixture of the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League.
In the Match Day 25 fixture at the main bowl of Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Pillars held on to their first half lead to win.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Jerry Iwera scored in the 19th minute.
Sunshine Stars fought back but they were unable to equalise.
On resumption of the second half, both teams fought hard but they failed to utilise their goalscoring chances.
NAN reports that Kano Pillars will face Niger Tornadoes in their next match on Saturday, while Sunshine Stars will face Shooting Stars on Sunday on Match Day 26.
