The 2018 Nigerian Army Day Celebration would hold between June 29 and July 7, in Monguno in Borno state.
The Director of Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen Texas Chukwu, announced this in a statement on Thursday.
Chukwu said the theme for the celebration is: “The Nigerian Army and National Security: A Panacea for Nigeria’s Economic Development”.
According to him, activities to mark NADCEL would start with a news conference to be addressed by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. -Gen. Tukur Buratai in Maiduguri.
He said other activities lined up for the celebration are Juma’at prayers on Friday as well as Inter-denominational Church Service on Sunday in all army formations nationwide.
He said: “There will be sanitation exercise on June 30, 2018 in Gudumbali and other selected locations in Borno state.
“Also, there will be free medical outreaches in some selected locations during the celebration.
“Similarly, the celebration will feature military equipment exhibition and mini trade fair in Monguno.”
Chukwu the event would be climax with the chief of army staff’s address to troops and decoration of troops with medals.
