The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has confirmed the death of two pilgrims from the state in Saudi Arabia during the 2016 Hajj.
The Public Relations Officer of the board, Alhaji Ibrahim Hashim, confirmed this in an interview with newsmen on Tuesday in Dutse.
Hashim said the male and female pilgrims died after brief illness.
He said the male faithful hailed from Birniwa Local Government Area, while the female was from Dutse Local Government Area.
The spokesman said the deceased had since been buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
No fewer than 2,369 pilgrims from the state performed the 2016 Hajj.
