No fewer than 16 police recruits were burnt to death on Sunday morning when a Mercedes Benz car and a Toyota bus collided in Omu-Aran, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The Mercedes Benz, with registration number AB 347 BKA, collided with the Toyota bus conveying the police recruits.
The vehicles caught fire upon the impact of the collision.
The police recruits were said to be indigenes of Kwara State, who were trained at the Police College, Lagos, and were on their way to their place of posting, Nasarawa State, when the accident occurred.
Those who survived are receiving treatment at Omu-Aran General Hospital.
