The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has predicted cloudy morning over the Central States of the country on Tuesday with prospects of localised thunderstorms over Abuja, Lafia and Makurdi.
NiMet gave the prediction in its Weather Outlook by the Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Monday.
It also predicted chances of localised thunderstorms over Minna, Bida, Ilorin and Yola in the afternoon with day and night temperatures of 30 to 36 and 18 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.
The agency predicted that southern states would experience a cloudy morning in the South West, with chances of localised thunderstorms over Port Harcourt, Calabar, Uyo, Yeangoa, Warri, Benin, Awka, Enugu and Umuahia in the afternoon.
It also predicted afternoon localised thunderstorms over the South West with day and night temperatures of 30 to 34 and 21 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
According to NiMet, northern states will experience partly cloudy conditions in the morning and afternoon with prospects of localised thunderstorms over Gusau, Yelwa, Gombe and southern Borno in the afternoon.
NiMet predicted: “The region will have day and night temperatures of 34 to 40 and 19 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.
“An increased moisture influx from the Atlantic ocean into the country which may result to cloudiness and later induce weather activities in most parts of the country in the next 24 hours.”
