Troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE in the North East have captured Kareto town from the Boko Haram terrorists.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Usman.
Usman said the town was liberated from the insurgents on July 25.
He said the exercise was in continuation of the clearance operation of the remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists hibernating in remote border towns and villages.
“The gallant troops are stabilising the immediate environment, while others are maintaining blocking positions at various areas,” he said.
The Army Spokesman also said troops of Operation GAMA AIKI under the auspices of the Multinational Joint Task Force had successfully cleared Dutchi and Damasak towns.
Usman said: “In due course, both troops of Operation GAMA AIKI (MNJTF) and Operation LAFIYA DOLE would link up with each other to continue the clearance operations.”
