The Kwara State Government has lodged a formal complaint to the Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command about some miscreants allegedly sponsored by some Peoples Democratic Party leaders in Kaiama Local Government Area who attacked Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed’s convoy on Tuesday.
In a letter signed by the Senior Special Assistant on Security Intelligence to Ahmed, B.S. Abdulsam, the state government said the PDP sponsored hoodlums vandalized two vehicles belonging to the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and one Kayode Adamsin in the governor’s convoy.
The complaint also indicated that at about 3am on November 26, 2014, the PDP youth members in Kaiama destroyed some billboards of Governor Ahmed.
The State Government identified Muhammed Madugu Haliru, the PDP House of Representatives aspirant for Kaiama/Baruten Federal Constituency; and Haliru Dansofo, the immediate past Special Assistant to the Governor on Chieftaincy Affairs and the PDP House of Assembly aspirant, Kaiama Local Government Area; and Saidu Yusuf, a PDP chieftain, as the brains behind the unfortunate incidents.
It could be recalled that Governor Ahmed was in Kaiama on Tuesday for the flag off of the construction of 64 kilometre Kishi-Kaiama Road project and the commissioning of the modernized General Hospital in Kaiama.
