Three gunmen dressed in police uniform over the weekend robbed the Bureau De Change market along Sakpoba Road, Benin, Edo State.
The gunmen wore the outfit of operatives of the Special Anti- Robbery Squad.
They reportedly carted away cash in local and foreign currencies to the tune of over N12 million.
The gunmen reportedly trailed one Hausa trader who had gone to cash money from the bank to his office in the Bureau De Change market.
The Hausa trader lost over N9 million to the gunmen.
Another trader lost over N3 million.
Once inside the market, the gunmen in police uniform started shooting sporadically, leading to chaos.
Policemen only arrived at the scene several minutes after the heavily armed gunmen had left.
