The Chief whip of the Senate, Orji Uzor Kalu, has called for the same of the Nigeria Football Federation.
The call followed the loss of the 2022 World Cup ticket by the Super Eagles to the Black Stars of Ghana on Tuesday.
The Black Stars held the Super Eagles to a 1-1 draw in Abuja after a goalless outing in Kumasi on Friday, picking the World Cup ticket on a favourable away goal rules.
Reacting to the development in a statement he personally signed, the representatives of Abia North Senatorial District said Nigerians have endured a woeful NFF in the last five years.
The former two-term Abia State Governor thus called for the sack of the NFF.
Kalu said: “What a sad night for all soccer lovers! It is high time the entire Management of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) is overhauled.
“In the past five years, we have exercised patience with incompetence that should ordinarily be the best, not just in Africa, but the world. The reality is that football is the same with science courses like Medicine and Engineering where you can’t cut corners, otherwise, you produce quack and incompetent people.
“The Federal Government and Nigerians have supported the NFF beyond measures and since they can’t give us the needed result, they should be sacked for a better and more tactical management.”
