A United Kingdom-based Nigerian and Founder of SPAC Nation, Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, has offered the reason he overstayed his visa in the United Kingdom.
Adegboyega, who has been in the news over his handling of the church’s fund and immigration status, spoke in an interview with the BBC.
In the interview on Friday, he rationalised his overstaying in the UK amid the report of a deportation order against him by a tribunal: “I lost track of time.”
He said there has been nearly a decade-long delay in applying to regularise his immigration status, adding that he had assumed his family was handling the necessary paperwork.

Adegboyega, who was accused of fraudulent handling of the funds of the church to the tune of £1.87 million, accused disgruntled members of being behind it.
He asked: “How on earth do you run an organisation without disgruntled people?”
On his flamboyant lifestyle, Adegboyega said: “I put on what is right, what connects to the generation I’m speaking to, so they are not attracted to drug dealers,” adding: “There is no deportation order, let me make that clear.”
