Wenger still the right man for Arsenal – Kanu

Arsenal and Nigeria’s Super Eagles legend, Nwankwo Kanu, has jumped to the defence of the under-fire Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, saying the club must stick with the veteran French tactician.
Wenger, 66, has of late come under criticism from the Emirates faithful who want him to exit the stage after presiding over another disappointing campaign, which has put the Gunners in danger of ending the season without a Silverware.
The calls have heightened following Arsenal’s elimination from the Uefa Champions League in the hands of Spanish giants, Barcelona, and also after being kicked out of the FA Cup by Watford.
“Of course, he should continue. You must have a plan of changing coaches. You don’t just wake up and remove him. He’s done a good job and I think he is still the man,” Kanu, who starred for the Gunners from 1999-2004 making 197 appearances and scoring 44 goals under the French man, said.
“When you remove him, whom do you replace him with? For me, he’s done well.”
The Gunners are currently placed third on the English Premier League table and face a daunting task in their bid to end their wait for the league title since 2004 as they trail leaders Leicester by 11 points with just eight matches left.
