The Kwara State Governor, Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed, has assured the traditional institution in the state that grading of traditional rulers is a continuous process devoid of politics, promising that all qualified stools would benefit from the exercise.
Speaking at the 9th Omo Ibile Igbomina Day celebration held in Share, the headquarters of Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, the governor said that his administration would not spare efforts in providing physical and social infrastructure in all communities to ensure accelerated development of the state, despite prevailing paucity of funds.
Governor Ahmed, who highlighted various achievements of his administration in Igbominaland, promised to construct Agunjin-Agbeku-Owa Kajola-Owode-Afaro, Idofian-Maloko-Igbo-Owu-Igbaja, Oke-Onigbin-Isanlu-Isin, Anilelerin, Offa and several others for the benefit of the people.
According to him, the present administration has completed and commissioned road projects such as Oro-Ojomu Oro and Ijara-Isanlu Isin while several others were at various stages of completion under the shared prosperity programme of the government
Governor Ahmed stated that the state government had remodelled and modernised five general hospitals as well as strengthened the health system in the area with the extension of the Community Health Insurance scheme to Ifelodun, Oyun, Ekiti, Oke-Ero and Isin Local Government Areas.
He commended the Omo Ibile Igbomina for its partnership with the state government in the areas of community development and peace making.
Earlier, the National President of Omo Ibile Igbomina, Dr. Samuel Atolagbe, had explained that the group was promoting and protecting the educational, economic, industrial, social cultural advancements of Igbomina people as well as preserving traditional moral values of Igbominaland.
Atolagbe commended the State Government and the traditional institution for the recent grading of traditional rulers and charged the governor to facilitate effective industrialisation of Igbominaland.
