We are not not merging with any political party – DPP

The Democratic Peoples Party has said it does not intend to go into any merger with any political party or association.
This was contained in a communiqué signed by the party’s Director, Media and Publicity, Abubakar Yusuf.
The communique was issued at the end of the party’s Pre-Convention National Executive Committee meeting in Abuja on Tuesday.
According to the communiqué, the party will continue to maintain its non-merger position and remain a “legally registered political party.”
It went further to announce the party’s NEC had expelled Olisaemeka Akamukali, its former acting Deputy National Chairman.
“He was expelled for anti-party activities and gross misconduct,” the communique stated.
It said the party has since gone on to appoint Gashon Benson as its new Deputy National Chairman.
The communique also said the party would hold its National Convention on May 25 in Abuja.
