The Chairman of the Transition Committee in Ekiti State, Chief Dipo Anisulowo, has said his committee and the Peoples Democratic Party are gearing up forThursday’s inauguration of the Governor-Elect, Ayo Fayose.
In a statement in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday, Anisulowo said the event would hold at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado-Ekiti.
He said: “The much-awaited inauguration of the Ekiti State Governor-Elect, Mr Peter Ayodele Fayose as governor of Ekiti State, comes up on Thursday October 16, 2014.
“This is to inform all peace-loving people of Ekiti State, who voted overwhelmingly for Fayose on June 21, that having made the divine arrangement of God to put Fayose in charge at this time come to pass, we are sure that God will perfect everything and the glorious day will come and the event will hold.
“Arrangement for the inauguration is ongoing and dignitaries from all walks of life such as governors, ministers, members of the National Working Committee of the PDP, traditional rulers and other personalities are expected at the ceremony. All the people of Ekiti State are hereby enjoined to get prepared.”
Anisulowo added that adequate security and logistic arrangements were being made and urged the people to troop out in large number to show their love for their incoming governor.
He also charged the people not to be bothered by the antics of the opposition, saying: “Discerning people of Ekiti State and Nigerians at large can now see that the so-called defenders of democracy are mere pretenders. How can a genuine democrat be hell bent on subverting people’s will? We want Ekiti people to know that the voice of the people is the voice of God and they have spoken and spoken well.”
