Warri Wolves petition NFF over Agbim, others

After waiting endlessly for the management of Rangers Football Club to see reason and redeem its image by negotiating for the release of four of Warri Wolves players with them and with the latest news that CAF has registered them for the Champions league, the management of the Warri based club has formally sent a strong worded petition to the Board of the Nigeria Premier League and the Nigeria Football Federation.
The letter, which was signed by the Vice Chairman of the Club, Alex Amudo, dated January 11, 2013 and addressed to the Chairman, Nigeria Premier League and also to the Nigeria Football Federation with the title: Re – Warri Wolves players in Rangers Camp, drew the attention of those in the glass house to the unprofessional attitude of the Enugu-based club by passing through the back door to lure four of their players, Chigozie Agbim, Sunday Mba, Lazarus Chukwu and Michael Egbeta, without any clearance.
The letter also stated clearly that the negotiation have not even started, yet, the Enugu-based club has gone to register them for their CAF Champions League and has been parading them as their players, prompting Super Eagles handlers into recognizing them as such
The letter also stated that Warri Wolves had in the past three years spent almost N40 million on these players, with Rangers not showing respect to those that own them and wondered what they will tell the owner of the club, the Delta State Government.
Amudo, in the letter, said he attached all relevant contract papers to buttress his point and advised all those involved in the illegal business to toe the path of honour or have themselves to blame at the end of the day.
Speaking on the letter, the Media Officer of the club, Moses Etu, confirmed the development, which he said was done after waiting endlessly for the Coal City outfit.
Etu said the Club is waiting for the reaction of the Nigeria Premier League and the Nigeria Football Federation before taking the next line of action.
Etu said: “I can confirm to that the club has sent a formal petition to those that matters in the country and we are waiting for their reply.
“We sincerely hope that they will live up to expectations but if nothing happens, we shall take the next line of action.
“We are ready to embarrass all those behind this illegal action to serve a warning to others.
“It is not done like this in other countries.”
