Popular Nigerian singer, Timi Dakolo, has hailed the President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, over his dexterity in the unfolding political drama involving him.
Dakolo, in a video that has gone viral, gave thumbs up to Saraki.
Saraki had on Tuesday survived what was considered a coup against him by showing up in the National Assembly to preside over the plenary of the Senate.
He was invited by the police for questioning by the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Unit over the April 5, 2018 robbery incident in Offa, Kwara State, which left no fewer than 33 persons dead, including nine policemen.
The invitation was personally signed by the IGP, Ibrahim Idris.
However, there were indications, as tweeted by Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, that there was a plan to change the leadership of the Senate in the absence of Saraki.
This was further fuelled by the invasion of the residence of the Deputy President of the Senate, Dr. Ike Ekweremadu, who was also invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission the same day.
Ekweremadu, in a letter by the Director of Operations of the EFCC, Mohammed Umar Abba, was invited for questioning over abuse of office and money laundering.
The letter, dated July 24, 2018, also asked Ekweremadu to report same day at 10am.
