Veteran sports journalist Muyiwa Daniel is dead

A veteran sports journalist, Muyiwa Daniel, is dead.

The announcement of his death was contained in a statement by a top member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Lagos State chapter, Bunmi Ogunyale, on Sunday.

Daniel had been ill for some months now.

Ogunyale, the Secretary of the Credentials Committee for the last election into the leadership of the NUJ in Lagos State, said in the statement: “With regrets but in submission to the will of Almighty God, we announce the demise of veteran journalist, Muyiwa Daniel.

“Late Daniel breathe his last this afternoon shortly before a major surgery at a Lagos State facility.

“Further communication will be made for burial arrangements and funds contributed.

“Thank you all for being there for one of our own.”
