Thisday football team defeated their counterparts from the Lagos State Ministry of Information by two goals to nil to advance to the final of the 5 A-side football tournament in the on-going 7th edition of the Lagos NUJ Media Games, which ends on Friday (today) at the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.
The match, which ended goalless in regulation time, saw the Apapa Warriors scoring two penalty kicks while the defending champion, Lagos State Ministry of Information, failed to score the two penalty kicks.
With this victory, the Thisday team will be facing The Sun team during the closing ceremony of this year’s Lagos NUJ Media Games at the Legacy Pitch, National Stadium, Surulere by 10am on Friday.
The Sun team has vowed to cage the Thisday team in the final match.
For the losers’ final, the Voice of Nigeria team, which lost the final ticket to The Sun team by a lone goal, will square it up with the Lagos State Ministry of Information.
