The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has asked a Federal High Court in Lagos to dismiss a motion filed by a former Minister of State for Finance, Nenadi Usman, seeking to commit the Information Minister, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, to prison for alleged contempt.
Usman is charged alongside a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, and Yusuf Danjuma, a former Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria.
Danjuma, who is charged alongside with the ministers, is said to be hospitalised in Kaduna.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is prosecuting Usman alongside Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation and the Chairman of the 2015 Goodluck Jonathan Presidential Campaign Organisation.
Fani-Kayode, who was also Chairman, Media and Publicity of the 2015 Peoples Democratic Party Campaign Organisation, in the suit, is charged alongside a former Minister of State for Finance, Nenadi Usman.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had arraigned Fani-Kayode and a former Minister of State for Finance, Nenadi Usman, on a 17-count charge of laundering N4.6 billion
