Justice Hussein Baba-Yusuf of an FCT High Court Maitama, on Thursday, fixed February 19 to rule on whether the alleged confession of Veronica Onyegbula, was made under duress or free from oppression; and whether or not the statement should be admitted as evidence.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had on April 10 arraigned Uzoma Attang, Esai Dangabar, Atiku Kigo, Ahmed Wada, Onyegbula, Sani Zira and Christian Madubuke over their involvement in the police pension scam
Forty-six of the attached properties, situated mostly in Lagos and Abuja, belong to Attang while Kigo, whose properties had earlier been attached, had another of his plot of land at Gudu district attached
They had pleaded not guilty to the charges and the court admitted them to bail in the sum of N10 million each with two sureties in like sum, one of whom must not be less than an officer on Grade Level 14.
Justice Baba-Yusuf, fixed the date, after Attang’s (fifth accused) counsel, Chief Kanu Agabi, SAN, pleaded with the court for a short adjournment
Also re-arraigned were six other accused persons: Esai Dangabar, Atiku Abubakar Kigo, Ahmed Inuwa Wada, Veronica Ulonma Onyegbula, Sani Habila Zira, and Christian Madubuke
Attang, who was absent in court when the others were first arraigned, was in charge of the police pension fund when N7.8 billion was stolen through 10,863 cheques
