The position of the Unity Forum was contained in a response jointly signed by its Chairman, Alhaji Abu Gbadamosi; former Deputy Governor, Moses Alake Adeyemo; Senator Soji Akanbi; Senator Ayo Adeseun; and Senator Olufemi Lanlehin.

The Forum stated its position in a statement jointly signed by four of its leaders: Senator Soji Akanbi, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, Senator Ayoade Adeseun and Alhaji Adebayo Shittu
A leader of the group, Wasiu Olatunbosun, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria in a telephone interview in Ibadan on Monday.
The faction in a statement by its Secretary, Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun, and signed by a cross section of the elders of the party in the state, stated that Ajimobi is the problem of the party in the state and therefore cannot be the solution.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that while Governor Abiola Ajimobi attended the congress held at the Lekan Salami Stadium, the Unity Forum of the party held its own at the Liberty Stadium.
The Forum in the release by its Secretary, Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun, stated that the poll was a referendum on the party and the low turn out was an indication that the party needed to be re-invigorated to stand a fair chance in next year’s elections.
