He spoke at the resumed trial of owner of Hilton Hotel Dr Rahmon Adedoyin and six staff on Wednesday over alleged murder of Adegoke.
The Chief Judge of Osun State, Justice Adepele Ojo, who is presiding over the case, announced the adjournment.
Hilton Hotel owner, Dr. Ramon Adedoyin; and six of his staff, Adedeji Adesola, Magdalene Chiefuna, Adeniyi Aderogba, Oluwale Lawrence, Oyetunde Kazeem and Adebayo Kunle, had been arraigned on 11 counts bordering on conspiracy, murder, altering of receipt and administration of extrajudicial oath.
The Presiding Judge and Chief Justice of Osun, Adepele Ojo, gave the order after listening to the defence counsel’s plea on no-case submission and the prosecution’s reply.
At the resumed hearing on Monday, the presiding Judge and Chief Justice of Osun State High Court, Adepele Ojo, granted the defence counsel’s request to move its no-case submission, and adjourned hearing in the matter till March 25.
Adedoyin and six others arrested in connection with the death of a Master’s Degree student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Timothy Adegoke, had been arraigned and remanded till Monday for ruling on their bail application.
The trial judge, Justice Adepele Ojo, gave the order that the accused staff be remanded in Ilesa Correctional Centre.
Adedoyin, Magdalene Chiefuna, Adeniyi Aderogba, Oluwole Lawrence, Oyetunde Kazeem Adebayo Kunle and Adedeji Adesola were arraigned and remanded on 11 count charges bothering on murder, conspiracy, felony amongst others.
This comes after Justice Module Adebiyi of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Abuja, struck out the case against Adegoke and others on Tuesday.
The request to hire the Senior Advocate of Nigeria was contained in a letter by the family dated February 3, 2022.
