The investigation is sequel to senate’s resolution on a motion by Senator Biodun Olujimi at plenary entitled: “The Growing Trend of Sexual Harassment in the Higher Institutions of Learning: The Case of Monica Osagie”.

The President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, after a meeting with the leadership of JOHESU on Thursday, where he listened to their grievances and demands, on Friday met with the Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, and the Minister of Labour, Dr. Chris Ngige, to hear their own side of the issue.
During the consideration of the report on the bill, the Senators who spoke against the bill said the Federal Government’s proposal will further deplete resources to the states and local governments.
