Just after the Edo State election in which the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Godwin Obaseki, retained his seat by defeating the candidate of the APC, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the social media came alive with a photograph saying: “Tinubu: Edo no be Lagos.”

It is interesting that the Peoples Democratic Party, its candidate, Governor Obaseki, and the Chairman of the party’s Campaign Council for Edo State, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, all of who had initially alleged the APC had perfected the rigging of the poll, suddenly turned round, after seeing the results being declared going its way, to say the election was now the best thing to have happened since Nigeria’s independence and that INEC had redeemed its seeming sullen image.
Obaseki won the election with 307,955 votes to defeat the closest rival and the All Progressives Congress candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, who scored 223,619
