In the letter dated March 24, 2016 and addressed to the British High Commissioner in Abuja, the Biafra agitator, who has filed a suit before the Economic Community of West African States against the violation of his rights, said he was wrongly arrested and put in detention.

Giving the ruling, Justice John Tsoho held that the Administration of Criminal Justice Act did not support the relief for witnesses to wear masks in this kind of trial
Kanu, David Nwawusi and Benjamin Madubugwu were charged with treasonable felony, unlawful possession of firearms and conspiracy.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi charged along with Kanu were also denied bail.
Delivering ruling, Justice John Tsoho held that the applicants failed to meet up with the requirements to be admitted on bail
Until now, Kanu had remained in the custody of the Department of State Services since he was arrested last year for allegedly plotting against the Federal Government

Justice Adeniyi Ademola, who gave the order, said it was illegal for the Department of State Services to still be holding Kanu after an order of the court to free him
The DSS had told the court after the arraignment of the accused that it had stumbled on some facts which took the matter out of the jurisdiction of the court

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the case, which had earlier been fixed for ruling, did not hold due to the absence of the magistrate in court
At the resumed sitting of the case, prosecution counsel, Moses Idakwo, informed the court that after the arraignment of the accused, the complainant stumbled on some facts, which took the matter out of the jurisdiction of the court
