The Nigeria Labour Congress on Monday in Abuja pleaded for N30,000 as minimum wage for Nigerian workers in a public hearing on the bill.

The Nigeria Labour Congress has rejected the N27,000 minimum wage approved by the Council of State, saying it is ready to engage the National Assembly on Monday over the N30,000 figure agreed on by the Tripartite Committee.
The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties, Edo chapter, has appealed to the Nigeria Labour Congress to accept the N27, 000 new minimum wage endorsed by the National Council of State.
The Nigeria Labour Congress has said the minimum wage of N27,000 and N30,000 approved for state and federal workers was a fragmentation of the wage and, therefore, unacceptable.
The Nigeria Labour Congress has rejected the N27,000 new National Minimum Wage adopted by the National Council of State on Tuesday.
Abiodun made the pledge on Friday during his visit to the Nigeria Labour Congress headquarters in Abeokuta where he met with the organised labour movement in the state.
The Cross River State Chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress says it will not participate in the 2019 general elections if the federal and state governments fail to implement the N30,000 minimum wage.
The three labour centres: Nigeria Labour Congress, Trade Union Congress and United Labour Congress, took the decision after a joint meeting in Lagos.
The ITUC is the world’s largest trade union federation.
Its General Secretary, Dr Peter Ozo-Eson, spoke in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday in Abuja.

Ajaero, who is the President of the United Labour Congress, spoke at a public forum on labour in Lagos on Thursday.
Speaking during a working visit to Ado Ekiti, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Ayuba Wabba, said there was no going back on the amount submitted to the Federal Government by labour.

The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that the court had on November 2 restrained the organised labour from proceeding on the nationwide strike scheduled for November 6, over new national minimum wage.
The state Chairman of NUT, Ibrahim Umar, told newsmen that the demand was part of resolutions at the end of the union’s Executive Council meeting in Minna.
He disclosed this in an interview with newsmen at the sideline of the 29th IFATCA Africa and Middle East Regional Meeting in Abuja.
The state Chairman of the association, Dr. Mohamned Kolade-Solagberu, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Ilorin on Monday.
