Also, 20 Assistant Commissioners of Police became Deputy Commissioners of Police, while eight Superintendents of Police became Assistant Commissioners of Police, 107 SPs to Chief Superintendent of Police, 1,431 Deputy Superintendents of Police to SPs, 1,252 Assistant Superintendents of Police to DSPs and 1,711 Corporals to Inspectors of Police
The statement said the Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase, deployed Commissioners of Police to the various centres to join the commission in the screening
The statement said a Commissioner of Police was elevated to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police, 10 assistant commissioner’s to deputy commissioners, five CSPs to ACP and six SPs to CSPs
Okiro explained that 44,661 were shortlisted for cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police, 87,736 for cadet Inspector and 205,830 for Police Constables
Okiro, who is also the Chairman of the Police Service Commission and the landlord of his Abuja residence, are presently not in good terms following reports that the former IGP has refused to quit the residence

The statement stated that 202,427 applications were for the position of Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police, 169,446, for the position of Cadet Inspector and 333,479 for the position of Constables
The statement warned the staff of the commission who would be involved in the screening of candidates to avoid any act that would compromise the integrity of the exercise
However, it said the commission had approved the reinstatement of 10 other Police Officers, exonerated three and committed the dismissal of three others to retirement
President Muhammadu Buhari had in 2015 approved the recruitment of 10,000 policemen at the National Security Summit in Abuja
It named the new CP as: Ero Oga, Yunana Y. Babas, Dan-Malam Mohammed, Mu’azu Halilu, Rabiu Yusuf, Sanusi Lemu, Ahmed Iliyasu Isyaku Garko, Mohammed Uba Kura and Alhassan Mamuda
His counsel, Kenneth Achabo, therefore, prayed the court to prevail on the commission to quash the suspension and reinstate his client to his position
