Segun Adesanya, TRACE Divisional Unit Commander, told the News Agency of Nigeria that the accident happened at about 10.30 a.m.
Adesanya explained that a Toyota bus with registration number XH 657 GMD was heading to Lagos when the steering balk joint pulled out on motion and the vehicle somersaulted in the process.
He said that the lone accident happened after Sagamu interchange on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, resulting in the death of a female adult while six male adults sustained various degrees of injuries.
“The corpse of the victim had been deposited at the Idera Hospital, Sagamu, Ogun, while the survivors were also receiving treatment at the same hospital,” he said.
Adesanya said that rescue operation was carried out by TRACE, FRSC officials and the police from Sagamu Area Command to restore normalcy and ease the free flow of traffic on the highway.
