Local Government Councils in the South East are yet to enjoy financial autonomy in spite of the directive by the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit, a survey by News Agency of Nigeria has revealed.

The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees in Ekiti will begin an indefinite strike on Friday.

The Committee, according to Akinjide, distributed N228.44 million of the revenue received for the month of March 2013 to AMAC while N179.23 million and N173.44 million were allocated to Gwagwalada Area Council and Bwari Area Council respectively
