Hawkins made the remark at the presentation of certificates to 21 youths from Bayelsa, Rivers and Delta States at the end of a Nollywood film production course

Hawkins told journalists at the US Consulate General in Lagos that Nigeria was among other countries that had in the last five years sent more than 50,000 immigrants to the US through the programme
He said that the move was part of the government’s effort at promoting “people-to-people” relationship between Nigeria and the US.
He said that the consulate had recruited additional staff and
installed new equipment in order to facilitate visa processing for
Nigerians
