The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Magu is currently being interrogated by a presidential probe panel headed by retired Justice Ayo Salami over allegations of mismanagement and lack of transparency in managing recovered assets by the EFCC.
He said Magu needed the bail because the print and electronic media had taken undue advantage of his detention to launch a campaign of calumny against him.
The counsel, Tosin Ojaomo, from Ojaomo and Ojaomo Chambers, said Magu was ready to provide good surety.
Also retrieved from Magu were all official vehicles.
Malam Garba Shehu, the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, stated this in a statement in Abuja on Saturday while reacting to various media reports on Magu’s investigation.
