Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) arrested 12 suspects in connection with the alleged murder of a herdsman in Plateau.

Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, has directed officers and men of the Operation Safe Haven to fish out killers of a herdsman in Plateau State in 48 hours.

The defendant was arraigned on a charge of culpable homicide contrary to Section 221 of the Penal Code.
The police charged Adamu, whose address was not provided, with one count of malicious damage.
The arrest of the suspect was made public in a statement in Ibadan on Saturday by the Corps’ Public Relations Officer, Oluwole Olusegun.
It said the incident occurred in Nogoonnuur soum in western Mongolia’s Bayan-Ulgii province on Wednesday.
The police in Ekiti have confirmed the alleged beheading of a lady in Ilasa Ekiti, Ekiti East Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday, by a herdsman believed to be the deceased’s husband.
ASP Othman Abubakar, the command’s spokesman, confirmed the situation in Yola adding that the incident occurred on September 26.
It said the herder, Babuga Kuaara, had already been arrested for the alleged offence, adding that the policeman was attached to the Kaoje Police Division in Bagudo local government area.
Chief Magistrate Kudirat Yahaya, who ordered that the accused be remanded at the Federal Prison Yard, Oke-Kura, Ilorin, adjourned the case till July 12 for further mention.

The name of the captured herdsman was given as Idi Gemu.
