Speaking at a briefing to commemorate the 14th anniversary of Heirs Holdings, Elumelu recounted how the journey started after a regulatory policy enacted 14 years ago had almost made him lose the company.

According to a statement in Lagos on Sunday, Elumelu wooed the investors at the Nigeria-India Presidential Roundtable and Conference in New Delhi, convened by President Bola Tinubu last week, September 6.
The Chairman, Heirs Holdings Group said this at the Nigeria Governors’ Forum 2023 for newly elected governors.
This was disclosed by Awele’s husband, who is also the Chairman of Heirs Holdings, United Bank for Africa and Transcorp.
In addition, TNOG Oil and Gas Limited will have sole operatorship of the asset.
The appointment took effect from August 1, 2020.
The event, which will hold on April 19, 2018 at the World Bank Group Main complex, will also serve to launch the World Bank Group’s Digital Economy for Africa initiative in collaboration with the IFC as an important effort to realise Africa’s digital potential.
The award was conferred on Elumelu in recognition of his outstanding work in promoting Entrepreneurship on the continent of Africa and across the globe
Elumelu, who was guest speaker at the occasion, spoke on the conference theme: “The Effects of Multiple Government Regulations and Taxation on Business Growth in Nigeria.”
Elumelu said this at the Lagos Business School Alumni Association “2017 Alumni Day” in Lagos, with the theme: “The Effects of Multiple Government Regulations and Taxation on Business Growth in Nigeria.”
Elumelu gave the advice at the 24th Annual Lift Above Poverty Organisation Development Lecture held in Lagos
He passed on just a few minutes to midnight peacefully on August 6, 2017 in Jos, Plateau State in the presence of his wife, Mary.
Elumelu said this while speaking on the theme: “How do we create 10 million jobs by 2020?” at the Youth Connekt Africa Summit in Rwanda on Saturday.
The appointment will take effect from June 1, 2017
