The governor, who was speaking at a special Thanksgiving Service to mark the 66th birthday of the presiding Pastor of Livingspring Chapel International, Pastor Femi Emmanuel, held at the Livingspring Chapel International, Dominion City, Aduloju, Ibadan, said that his government has invested heavily in security more than any of the previous governments in the state.

Speaking at an event organised for 66 trained personnel’s from Oyo State, in Ibadan, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Mrs. Christiana Abioye, said the programme had ensured more equitable distribution of resources to vulnerable populations. 

He commiserated with the immediate family of the artiste, the Iseyin community and the entertainment industry on what he described as the demise of a truly great ambassador of Oyo State.

Governor Makinde, who stated this while receiving a team of the Nigerian Institute of Architects led by its President, Arc Sonny Echono, who paid him a courtesy visit in his office, at the Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, said his administration has been doing everything within its powers to keep the state safe and ensure businesses thrive.

Speaking on Saturday during a live broadcast on King’s FM, Ibadan, the Honourable Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun, said that unless insecurity was collectively and roundly tackled, development and peace will be threatened.
