The governor, who described terror attacks anywhere in the world as condemnable, said: “If President Buhari could afford to pick his phone and call the Ivorian president, Alassane Ouattara, immediately after the attack, Nigerians must ask the President why he kept mute for days over the Fulani herdsmen massacre of over 300 Agatu people of Benue State, the Mile 12 Lagos killings and wanton destruction of properties among others.

Alhaji Saka Adeleye, the President of the National Association of Proprietors and Proprietress of Private Schools, Ekiti State chapter, who addressed a news conference on Monday in Ado-Ekiti, said the schools would remain closed for three days
The State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, gave the directives in Ado-Ekiti while receiving the report of a team led by the Deputy Governor, Dr Kolapo Olusola, that went to the school for a preliminary investigation of the incident
According to a press statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, Fayose who was reacting to the development for the first time since the DSS officials invaded the House of Assembly Complex, Ado-Ekiti and whisked four lawmakers away, said he remains resolute in his determination to criticise obnoxious policies of President Muhammad Buhari in the interest of Nigeria and democracy
The Assembly members, who vowed not to collaborate with anyone to truncate the government of Governor Fayose, added that they were prepared to spend the rest of their tenure in DSS cell, instead of joining people that they roundly defeated in five straight elections to cause another political instability in Ekiti State
The governor, who said the DSS under President Buhari was operating beyond its constitutional mandate, added: “The government of Ekiti State may have to reconsider the usefulness of men of the DSS in the government house and other institutions of the State government
He said: “They have not fulfilled any of the promises they made to Nigerians. In fact, they have even told us that they never made any promise. It is close to one year that Buhari assumed office; no single job has been created. Instead of the three million jobs per year that they promised, what we have been witnessing is job losses, economic hardship and budget padding.”
The Governor, who also flagged off the 14.5 km Awo-Ara-Ijero Road at Awo in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area, said: “If you don’t have your PVC, you may no longer enjoy benefits from government because very soon about 10,000 people will benefit N10,000 monthly in our social security scheme
The Finance Commissioner said applicants who could not meet up with the screening condition of 50 per cent of their net pay set by the state government would be considered as soon as the condition is met
Fayose, who said there was no time in the history of Nigeria that the gap between dollar official rate and open market rate was more than N200, pointed out that it made no economic sense for the Federal Government to be calculating the country’s revenue on the basis of the Central Bank of Nigeria official rate of N199 to a dollar, while States and Local Councils that are sharing the revenue with the Federal Government run their businesses at the open market rate of over N400 to one dollar, thereby causing businesses to be folding up by the day and prices of goods skyrocketing everyday
The governor, who maintained that President Muhammadu Buhari lacked the required mental capacity to rescue the country from the present economic problems, added that it was an insult for a Federal Government that appeared to be clueless to be preaching its unworkable policies to other tiers of government
He said: “I have always defended the party even at the risk of my position, personal security and comfort. I have always stood for the truth, and I cannot now be part of any decision that won’t represent the party well
Already, feelers from the party indicated that the emergence of Sheriff would lead to mass defection as some key members of the PDP remained adamant not to accept him as the chairman of the party
