The West African Examination Council based in Ghana on Friday presented attestation certificate and confirmation of WAEC result to President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Registrar to the council, Dr. Iyi Uwadiae, made the observation at a news conference to announce the preparation for WAEC’s upcoming International Summit on Examination Malpractice in Lagos
He said that for the purpose of obtaining higher scores to improve their chances of gaining admission to the next level of education, some students do everything available to them to indulge in cheating during examinations.
The council’s Registrar, Dr. Iyi Uwadiae, announced the approval at a news conference in Lagos
According to him, Nigerians have often made the mistake of using the mirror, which is WAECs report per candidate, to measure the standard of education as contained in the curriculum against their performance and achievements
Uwadiae said: “Consider the fact that you start with the commissioning of item writers, moderation of the items, printing of the question papers and at the tail end, while administering the paper, perhaps just one of the question papers is stolen before the day of the examination
The council’s Registrar, Dr. Iyi Uwadiae, made the call when he visited the Lagos Office of the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday.
According to him, the examiners, remain one of the most critical components in the entire examination process and, therefore, deserve to be recognised
