A statement signed Tuesday, by the NCC Director, Public Affairs, Dr. Ikechukwu Adinde, said the bolstering of the capacity of emergency response was coming on the heels of Commission’s recent activation of the Taraba State ECC, thus bringing the total number of operational ECCs across the country to 25.

Addressing a large audience of telecom consumers during the NCC Special Day held at recently concluded 32nd Enugu International Trade Fair organised by the Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry Mines and Agriculture (ECCIMA), the Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of the Commission, Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, said events of this nature provide the opportunity for NCC, as a telecom regulator, to interact with consumers and attend to their service-related concerns.

The commission said this in a statement jointly signed by Dr Ikechukwu Adinde, Director, Public Affairs, and Usman Malah, Director, Human Capital and Administration, on Monday in Abuja.

The state-of-the-art ICT tools, comprising 40 units of HP EliteOne All-in-One desktop G5 with Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM, 1TB HDD and 10 units of HP EliteBook 830G6 laptops with Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM and 500GB SSD, were handed over to the Agency by the Executive Vice Chairman of NCC, Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, at the NFIU head office in Abuja.

A statement jointly signed by the spokesmen of the Nigerian Communications Commission (and the National Identity Management Commission, Dr Ikechukwu Adinde and Mr Kayode Adegoke respectively, said the decision to extend the date was reached at a meeting of stakeholders with the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy,  Dr. Isa Pantami.
