The National Inland Waterways Authority, NIWA, said it had commenced the installation of navigational aids on the nation’s waterways to aid sailing at night.

Danladi Ibrahim, Acting Managing Director, National Inland Waterways Authority, NIWA, has commended the Federal Government’s effort to tackle insecurity challenges on Nigeria waterways.

Ibrahim, who disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Abuja, said the Lokoja port was 75 per cent completed while Oguta port, in Imo, was 70 per cent completed.

Alhaji Danladi Ibrahim, Acting Managing Director, Nigeria Inland Waterways Authority, said on Wednesday that the Baro Inland water port has been completed and ready for inauguration in August.
